Local lad Adam Booth grew up exploring the Shropshire Hills, and learned to climb in nearby Snowdonia. He has since gone on to climb four of the worlds five highest peaks, including two successful summits of Mount Everest. 

 

Join Adam for a talk about his audacious attempt to climb Kanchenjunga, the third highest mountain in the world, using an experimental home training system. Illustrated throughout with breathtaking photos and videos, Adam will share some insight into the history of the early expeditions to the mountain, and also the physiological problems encountered when trying to survive ‘the death zone’ at extreme altitude.
