Returning to Shrewsbury by popular request just one year on, The South Wales Male Choir – Côr Meibion De Cymru, sings again in support of Samaritans of Shrewsbury.

Following a sell-out debut in Theatre Severn last year the much travelled choir, with no fewer than 22 tours across the world since its foundation in 1982 and enjoying the patronage of HRH The Prince of Wales, delights in performing nearby just 'over the border'.

This highly professional prestigious traditional male choir will perform a rich, varied and entertaining programme encompassing more wonderful  'SOUNDS OF WALES' designed to thrill the heart and strengthen the soul! MICHAEL CARDING - renowned local poet, will join us to recite some of his popular works.

The proceeds from this Concert will go to Samaritans of Shrewsbury:

"Samaritans has a prominent, nationally recognizable name, Samaritans of Shrewsbury is an independent local charity affiliated to the central charity. This means that we are responsible for securing all our own funds. The branch at Coleham Head, Shrewsbury, sustains the work of our 67 volunteers who give compassionate support to people in distress, despair and with suicidal feelings and actions. Our core purpose is to provide compassionate, listening and emotional support to people, whatever their situation, and however they want to contact us; by phone, email, text and in person for face-to-face conversation. During 2017 5.2m people contacted Samaritans and in Shrewsbury we handled around 16,000 ‘serious’ contacts."
