Featuring COR MEIBION DE CYMRU / THE SOUTH WALES MALE CHOIR, accompanied by the highly acclaimed Tenor, Rhodri Prys Jones, this concert is being held to raise funds for a local charity The Shrewsbury Samaritans.
 
Formed in 1982 to specifically take the glorious Welsh Male Choir tradition overseas, Côr Meibion De Cymru - Wales' only truly regional male choir – enjoys an envious reputation as premier choral ambassadors. Royal Patronage of HRH The Prince of Wales has supported choristers from all over south of the Principality, plus some exiles from over the River Severn.

Producing a powerful richness of sound with a variety of music, are hallmarks of The South Wales Male Choir which, linked to the warm family spirit, means witnessing the SOUNDS OF WALES becomes an unforgettable experience.
 
The performance will also feature four soloists from Shrewsbury School; Phoebe MorrisBen LloydSophia PriceJessie Inglis-Jones.

A raffle will take place on the evening, with prizes including a Porsche Driving Experience( Porsche Cheshire Oaks), Half Case of Wine, Meal for Two (Peachtree, Shrewsbury), Meal for Two (Coach and Horses, Shrewsbury) and Two Bottles Tanners Claret from Tanners of Shrewsbury.

Shrewsbury Samaritans is an independent volunteer led local charity, who raise all their own funds. Their core purpose is to provide compassionate, listening and emotional support to people who need help.  

Shrewsbury Samaritans also work in the Community providing support to high risk groups in high risk places like Shrewsbury Railway Station.  In addition, they partner with local organizations; Missing people, Severn Hospice, GP surgeries, 41 Club, Carer Groups, Hospitals, Mental Health Services, Police, Schools, Council Services and Local Businesses. They are contactable by phone, email, text and in person at their Centre at Coleham Head, Shrewsbury. During 2016 they handled 21,916 contacts. This increased significantly during 2017.
