Roy Orbison was the most popular US vocalist in Britain during the 1960s Beat Group period, with his trademark dark glasses and soaring vocal melodies. He made Number One in the charts with Only The Lonely ,It’s Over and Pretty Woman, while other top hits included Running Scared, Dream Baby, Blue Bayou, Too Soon To Know and I Drove All Night.
Damien Edwards performs as Roy Orbison. He is undoubtedly the leading tribute to Orbison in the UK having starred in four tours of 'The Roy Orbison Story' in the last decade. His performances stretch from the Liverpool Empire to the Edinburgh Playhouse, London’s West End and nearly every major venue in the UK. More recently in 2008 he starred as Roy in Bill Kenwright’s – ‘The Concert They Never Gave’.
The show takes audiences back to relive the stars best loved hits and keep the memories of these much-missed artistes alive.
