Treading the boards for six special concerts Seth Lakeman is returning to Theatre Severn's stage for one of them this Spring.
Armed with raging fiddle and rampant imagination Seth takes the established folk orthodoxy and turns it on its head. The spirit of a roack band meets the timeless and heartfelt subject matter of the folk tale in a blur of fiddle, acounstic guitar and foot-stomping rhythms that charm audiences to their feet.
The West Country singer has been credited with widening the folk music audience since his 2005 Mercury Award Nomination debut, not least because the record was launched in front of a captive audience at Dartmoor Prison.
Chasing the storytales of his three hit albums Kitty Jay, Freedom Fields and Poor Man's Heaven will come Seth's fourth album Hearts and Minds. Fiery new life is once again forming in old legends and Lakeman is making the spirits dance.
